Know what you’re buying.

This build is not Developer ID signed or Apple-notarized. Its ad-hoc integrity signature does not verify the publisher. macOS may block it. Managed or work Macs may prohibit installation entirely.

It contains Apple silicon and Intel binaries with a macOS 12 deployment target. Physical Intel Macs and older macOS versions have not completed compatibility validation. Early access can have bugs. A fresh-Mac installation and paid purchase have not been tested end to end.

$19 USD once. Future app updates included. No refunds, except where required by law. Automatic in-app updates are not implemented.

Choose a speech engine.

Local speech recognition requires a separate engine and model download. Whisper offers multilingual models and an Intel alternative; engine installation may require Homebrew. Moonshine’s English model requires Apple silicon, macOS 15+, Python 3.8+ and ffmpeg, plus an approximately 269 MB model download and runtime dependencies.

Optional cloud providers require your own credentials and may charge separately. Select local transcription and local cleanup to keep those steps on your Mac.

Install the app.

1. Complete checkout and keep your private purchase confirmation link. Download the DMG from that page.
2. Open the DMG, read INSTALL-FIRST.txt, and drag One Line.app to Applications.
3. Open One Line from Applications. If macOS specifically blocks this expected app because it cannot verify the developer, follow Apple’s instructions for opening an app from an unidentified developer: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, when offered.
4. Only approve the app you intended to download. If macOS reports malware, damage, or another warning, stop and do not open the app. Do not disable Gatekeeper or SIP, strip quarantine, or edit permission databases.

Give your voice a way in.

Follow the app’s setup to grant Microphone, Input Monitoring and Accessibility/control access. Quit and reopen One Line after changing permissions, then use Check again. Choose your engine, download its model, and test a short sentence in an ordinary text field.

Fn + Shift is the default shortcut. App and field support varies. Keep transcript history available to recover words if insertion needs attention.

Update manually.

Return to your private purchase page for the current installer. Quit the app before replacing it in Applications. A new build may need Open Anyway and permissions again because this release has no stable Developer ID signing identity. Your local profile, history and dictionary are stored separately and are not bundled in the installer.
